Beef and Cabbage Hash
Everyone loves a good bowl of hash and this dish is no exception. As a matter of fact, this HCG friendly recipe may surprise some of you – it’s low in calories, fat free and low in sodium making it heart healthy and also great for overall gut health.


Cabbage is an excellent natural probiotic source that helps maintain your overall health and helps to prevent leaky gut. As a bonus, this dish tastes great too!

  • 3.5 ounces organic lean ground beef
  • 2 cups organic cabbage finely chopped
  • 1/2 organic onion, finely sliced
  • 1 clove organic garlic crushed
  • 1 cup low sodium beef broth or water
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili flakes
  • pinch of sea salt and black pepper ( or to taste )
  • pinch of cayenne pepper
  • dash of Worcestershire sauce
Preparation Steps
  • in a large frying pan, brown beef over medium high heat
  • remove the beef, into a sieve and rinse with hot water and clean the pan
  • return the rinsed beef to the pan and season with the cumin
  • add the garlic and onion and sauté for a few minutes
  • add the cabbage, the broth, chili flakes, cayenne and Worcestershire sauce
  • cook until cabbage is tender adding more water or broth as needed
  • taste, then season with salt and pepper
  • cook it down until no liquid is left
  • serve hot in a bowl
  • garnish with a sprig of fresh parsley
